  The Tiro Association for Arts (TAA) is a Lebanese NGO established in 2014, dedicated to reviving cultural life, particularly in the south, by rehabilitating abandoned cinemas and theaters into free, independent cultural hubs. Νίκολα Τέσλα  Ασύρματη μεταφορά ενέργειας: Το Όνειρο του Τέσλα για έναν Κόσμο με Ελεύθερη Ενέργεια (αποσπάσμα αναδημοσίευσμένο από το μπλογκ Λόγιος Ερμής) Ο Αποδέκτης Ελεύθερης Ενέργειας έμοιαζε κάπως με τους σημερινούς ηλιακούς συλλέκτες και συγκεκριμένα με τη συμβατική τεχνολογία των φωτοβολταϊκών. Η σημαντικότερη διαφορά του με τα συμβατικά ηλιακά συστήματα έγκειται σ' ένα υπόστρωμα κρυστάλλινης σιλικόνης: μια από τις τελευταίες ίσως χρήσεις της άμορφης σιλικόνης, η οποία υπόσχεται πολλά στην πρόσληψη ενέργειας από τον ήλιο. Βέβαια, οι σημερινές ηλιακές κυψέλες κοστίζουν ακόμη ακριβά, ενώ η «ηλιακή πλάκα» του Τέσλα ήταν μια απλή μεταλλική πλάκα καλυμμένη με μια διάφανη επίστρωση ενός μονωτικού υλικού.
